Wearing The Word
Deuteronomy 6
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
I came across these verses from The Bible today.
God had commanded Israel to keep His Word closely to them, even wearing it on parts of their body.
I was familiar with the word "frontlets" (Greek translation).
I had not heard of the word "totafot" (Hebrew translation).
I found this to be so interesting.
Never have I worn God's Word between my eyes.
God had reminded Israel of His promises and thus He commanded them to do so.
We are to love and fear The Lord and to obey.
Considering all of this, I realized that I need to have a closer relationship with Him.
My commitment to Him needs to be greater.
He is an awesome God and He is good!
Oh that I would be filled with His Spirit unto good works.
All praise and glory be to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Have a blessed day
