The brazen serpent on a pole.
Often I have considered the Bible's passage about this serpent on a pole.
(Numbers 21:8)
Israel had sinned against God and the Lord sent fiery serpents to them.
Many were bitten died.
God had Moses make this brass serpent on the pole.
God healed them through Moses by having him raise the pole with the serpent and when they looked upon it they were healed.
Jesus explained to Nicodemus that he must be lifted up as the serpent on the pole was lifted up. (John 3:14,15)
He who knew no sin became sin for us on the cross. (2 Cor 5:21)
How amazing it is to me that God paints a picture of redemption for us in Christ Jesus back in the days of Moses.
We need to be healed and forgiven from sin and God has provided for that healing and forgiveness through our Lord Jesus Christ.
